VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A Virginia Beach pastor will spend 10 months behind bars for stealing more than $200,000 from his former church and its insurance company. Kenneth L. Montgomery was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison, with all but 10 months suspended.

Montgomery pleaded guilty in January. He said he got blank checks from Hilltop Community Church and deposited the funds into his personal bank account between 2004 and 2006. He also filed false insurance claims alleging the church had been burglarized, then kept the payments.

Tagging technology to track trash

The ebb and flow of thousands of pieces of household rubbish are to be tracked using sophisticated mobile tags.

It is hoped that making people confront the final journey of their waste will make them reduce what they throw away.

Initially, 3,000 pieces of rubbish, donated by volunteers, will be tagged in New York, Seattle and London.

"Trash is almost an invisible system today," Assaf Biderman, one of the project leaders at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told BBC News.

"You throw something into the garbage and a lot of us forget about it. It gets buried, it gets burned, it gets shipped overseas."

The Trash Track aims to make that process - termed the "removal chain" - more transparent.

Friends of the Earth's Senior Waste Campaigner Michael Warhurst said the project could be a "useful tool" for highlighting the impact of rubbish.

"[Waste] doesn't simply disappear when we throw it away, and all too often it ends up causing damage when it could be recycled instead.

"People must have much better information on - and control over - where their rubbish and recycling ends up."

The 2nd and much more appealing story describes Sale Jr. as an avid Steelers fan who instigated the rival town's fans.

World of Warcraft movie: from computer screen to big screen, with 'Spider-Man's Sam Raimi to direct

The man behind the "Spider-Man" movies is ready for war.

Sam Raimi, director of the top-grossing "Spider-Man" films, has signed on to direct a film adaptation of the wildly popular videogame "World of Warcraft," Variety.com reports.

"At its core, 'Warcraft' is a fantastic, action-packed story," Raimi said in a statement.

The director, who has headed up all the Spider-Man flicks including the upcoming "Spider-Man 4," is known for bringing three-dimensional life to the comic books characters. Now he's taking on material with an even less flesh and blood story: a videogame.

Raimi's most recent effort, "Drag Me to Hell," garnered critical praise as a fun, tightly-paced take on the horror genre, with Daily News critic Joe Neumaier writing, "This is how it's done."

The first three "Spider-Man" movies are all in the top-20 top grossing films of all time, with the original "Spider-Man" leading the franchise in the number 8 spot after raking in $407,681,000 in the U.S.

The upcoming World of Warcraft flick also likely has a built-in audience, starting with millions of fans of the game.

The movie will build off the videogame's central conflict, between the Horde and the Alliance.

Known as a multiplayer online role-playing game, players create a character avatar and interact with other players on the Web, forming guilds, fighting monsters, and amassing skills that help them complete quests.

First released in 1994, it's by far the dominant video game of its kind, with 11.5 million monthly subscribers.

"Wrath of the Lich King," the most recent expansion version, sold 2.8 million copies the day it was released in November 2008, and went on to sell 4 million copies in its first month.

The movie-deal was initially inked back in 2006 between Legendary Pictures, which has a co-production and financing arrangement with Warner Bros., and Blizzard Entertainment, which publishes the game.

"Warcraft" is "emblematic of the kind of branded, event films for which our studio is best known," said Warner Bros. Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov.

Raimi will oversee development of the project, and begin shooting once he wraps "Spider-Man 4," which goes into production next year.

Dubai's Al Nassma, the world's first brand of chocolate made with camels' milk, plans to expand into new Arab markets, Europe, Japan and the United States, its general manager said on Tuesday.

Martin Van Almsick said the United Arab Emirates company planned to enter Saudi Arabia first, followed by Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the United States within the next few months.

The company plans to enter the Saudi market in a month through a partnership with a Jeddah-based distributor, said Van Almsick, adding the company plans to deliver the first tonne of chocolates to Saudi Arabia soon.

Al Nassma is also in talks with British department store Harrods and San Francisco's Chocolate Covered to sell its products.

Al Nassma was formally established in October last year and aims to produce 100 tonnes of premium camels' milk chocolate a year.

In partnership with Austrian chocolate maker Manner, Al Nassma manufactures the end product at its Dubai facility.

With 3,000 camels on its Dubai farm, the company sells chocolates through its farm-attached store as well as in luxury hotels and private airlines. It plans to launch an online shopping facility within a month, Van Almsick said. The farm is controlled by the Dubai government.

The company is set to open its second store in the UAE in one of Dubai's large malls and is in talks with mall operator Majid Al Futtaim and others, he said.

"We aim to be the Godiva of the Middle East," Van Almsick said in an interview. "It's a luxury product, so we will never be in supermarkets. The plan is to be in one mall in each UAE city."

Al Nassma is also looking at the possibility of setting up a store in Japan, where demand for the product is high, he said.

All chocolates are produced without preservatives or chemical additives with a range of locally popular spices, nuts and honey, the company says.

Camel milk contains five times more vitamin C than cow milk, less fat, less lactose and more insulin, making it a good option for diabetics and the lactose intolerant, Van Almsick said.

Clinton Outlines How U.S. Might Deal With Nuclear Iran

BANGKOK (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sketched out on Wednesday how the United States might cope with a nuclear Iran -- by arming its allies in the Gulf and extending a "defence umbrella" over the region.

She said crossing the nuclear threshold would not make Iran, which Washington believes is pursuing nuclear weapons, safer or more secure. Iran says its nuclear program is to generate electricity so it can export more oil and gas.

"We will still hold the door open (for talks with Iran) but we also have made it clear that we'll take actions, as I've said time and time again, crippling action, working to upgrade the defence of our partners in the region," she said in a programme taped for Thai television during a visit to Bangkok.

"We want Iran to calculate what I think is a fair assessment ... that if the U.S. extends a defence umbrella over the region, if we do even more to support the military capacity of those in the Gulf, it's unlikely that Iran will be any stronger or safer because they won't be able to intimidate and dominate as they apparently believe they can once they have a nuclear weapon...."

Philly.com said about Soul Cannon "This Baltimore hip-hop band is one of the best acts on the East Coast", after the show, I believed them. Jazzed infused with hip-hop and so many other genres, it is hard to pin point a category for them. Soul Cannon is surely on its way to the top, with three extremely talented musicians and one dope emcee. Philly locals, The Alien Architect started the show with a bang, and made everyone in the place jump, scream, dance, or do whatever it is you do.
