I had a pretty cheesy Valentine's Day. The above picture I took while waiting to order some Fontina for this mac and cheese I was making for a Valentine's Day BBQ Dinner in NYC.

I also attended the All Gone Book Release and Photo Exhibit at Reed Space Friday Night. Saw so many familiar faces - gosh I miss NYC sometimes - and made some new friends.

The highlight of the show, get yours before it's...

As you can see the venue was packed. And of course I was the only Phillyhead to represent/get invited. It wasn't so bad until around 8:30, then it just got too hot.

Kaws signing an autograph, surrounded by groupies and photographers.

Me and Yoshi aka The Hardest Working Blogger on the Net. Five blogs, kids, you beat that.

Khalym, formerly of Sir Hayes, but still looking good as always, while the rest of us are layered in three shirts, a scarf and jacket.

Meka from 10Deep. I so wanted to steal his black smurf shirt right then and there.

Mel, my favorite photographer, and apparently Questlove's too. Read
here for more.

Mikey from
INQMND was in town visiting from Toronto. Here he was trying to each me the sleek techniques of Blackberry, but I was more intrigued by the older Latino couple in the background fondling each other.

Me behind Busy P (Ed Banger), behind the wheels, behind the counter, behind the crowd, spinning the merry music.

The Reed Space ladies, hollerrrrrrrrrr.

Suzette and her friend. She's also an amazing photographer. Check her work out
here.

They were serving "natural flaovored" Sprite and Mountain Dew, plus BELVEDERE IX by Andre.

Nat from
LTD and Linyee from
Theme politickin'. Appearances also made by Michael of La MJC, Todd “REAS” James, Dante Ross and many more (sorry no Kanye West). If you want to see more flicks of the event you can go to
Hyebeast,
Freshness Mag or Slum Village. Afterwards Linyee and I met up with Angelo from Supreme to Milk Gallery for the Tar Magazine Party and Photo Exhibit.

There was a dumb line outside, but once we saw this Scandinavian lady and Japanese guy jump the line, we said fuck it and did too. What do you know, it worked. New York is weird sometimes.

I don't know why it was so hard to get in the exhibit wasn't all that and apparently neither was the free alcohol. P.S. my teacher told me that if you take a photo of already existing art, like a statue, it's not really art. Sorry.

The next day, on Valentine's Day, me and Linyee spent all day making food. Bought a shitload from the supermarket and still managed to forget stuff.

Linyee's from Texas (yes they have Asians there) so she knows the proper way to smoke BBQ ribs. She even has her own woodchips shipped from upstate.

And she makes a killer gumbo. That's that Southern Hospitality, y'all.

I made baked mac and cheese, with 4 types of cheeses. Kraft can kiss it!

What the ribs looked like after a good rubdown and 3 hours of smoky goodness, yummmmmmmm.

The rest of our dinner: rice, coleslaw, salad with pears, greens, cornbread and chocolate rum cake.

I love Linyee and Angelo (especially when one is high and the other drunk), so glad I spent my weekend with them. Hope you spent yours with people you loved, even if that person was yourself.
